As one of the biggest and most popular country music festivals globally, Stagecoach attracts tens of thousands of fans from all over Indio, California, every year. If you’re lucky enough to have tickets to this year’s event (or any year’s event, really), you want to be prepared for everything that comes with it, from the hot desert weather to the massive crowds, your ultimate Stagecoach survival guide for 2022.
Stagecoach Survival Guide Tips
The first thing to know is that the festival takes place over three days, Friday through Sunday, and each day is packed with different artists and events. That means you need to be prepared for a lot of walking, standing, and dancing. Comfortable shoes are a must, sunscreen and a hat to protect you from the sun.
Speaking of the sun, the weather in Indio can be quite hot, even in April. The average high temperature during Stagecoach is around 86 degrees, but it can feel much hotter when you’re out in the sun all day. Be sure to drink plenty of water and take breaks in the shade. The crowds at Stagecoach can be overwhelming, especially on the main stage. If you’re not used to being in large crowds, it’s important to be aware of your surroundings and not get pushed or pulled too much. The best way to stay safe is to stick with your group and be aware of where the exits are if you need to leave in a hurry.
Of course, the main reason people go to Stagecoach is for the music. With over 80 artists performing on multiple stages throughout the weekend, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re a fan of country, rock, pop, or anything in between, you’re sure to find your new favorite band at Stagecoach.
As you can see, there’s a lot to keep in mind when attending Stagecoach. But as long as you’re prepared for the heat, the crowds, and the amazing music, you’re sure to have an incredible time.

How to Get to Stagecoach
If you’re from out of town, the best way to get to Stagecoach is by flying into the Palm Springs International Airport (PSP). You can either rent a car or take a shuttle to the festival grounds.
Be aware that traffic can be heavy around the festival if you’re driving, so give yourself plenty of time to get there. Once you’re on the grounds, there is plenty of parking available.
One of the best things about Stagecoach is the camping options. There’s a spot for you, whether you want to rough it in a tent or bring your RV.
If you’re camping in a tent, bring plenty of supplies, including food, water, and sunscreen. It’s also a good idea to bring a tarp to put under your tent in case of rain.
- If you’re bringing an RV, there are a few things you need to know:
- You need to purchase an RV pass in addition to your festival ticket.
- There are no hookups available, so you’ll need to be self-contained.
The RV camping area is a short shuttle ride from the festival grounds, so you’ll need to factor that in when planning your trip.
What to Eat and Drink
There are plenty of food and drink options available on the festival grounds, so you’ll find something to your liking. In addition to the usual festival fare like burgers and fries, several gourmet food trucks offer more upscale options.
As for drinks, there are plenty of places to get beer, wine, and cocktails. Several water stations are located around the festival so that you can stay hydrated in the hot desert sun.
